Surprised????

Each of us face those life challenging moments as we travel down our personal road of life. We understand that no one can walk that road for us but that God gives us people to walk the road with us. It is through the presence of God and the presence of family and friends that we sense and see the ministering kindness, love, and power of God. I was reminded this morning that we should never be surprised when God reveals His presence in the midst of our difficulty. He is simply fulfilling the promises that He through His Word has made to His children. We can rejoice in His promises and in His presence. Thank you God for reminding me of this awesome principle today.

I found a version of the song, His Eye is on the Sparrow. These words were sung by Michael Peterson.

Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heav'n and home,
When Jesus is my portion,
My constant friend is He;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know he watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free;
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know he watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled,"
His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness,
I lose my doubts and fears,
Tho' by the path He leadeth,
But one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know he watches me.

Whenever I am tempted,
Whenever clouds arise,
When song gives place to sighing,
When hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him;
From care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know he watches me.
